Found a Yoga studio in Brussels. Cant believe i am so lucky! ..Took my first two classes. And i love it. Feeling every muscle of my body. And i love the teacher. She just makes me so happy’, its everything i’ve been looking for :)

The right approach, the right attitude, the right support, the right set up, the right person, – makes it all an inspiring story. And that’s what people should do – follow passion, using space to make other people happy, and becoming happier themselves.

There’s so much more we can do. So much more limits we can cross. So many challenges we can overcome. So much more loving and giving we can be. Make your heart smile. Do what makes you happy :)

..or at least from the plane. .. or from the tallest building in town. ..or will be looking at you from the street wall you walk past every day.

The guy takes pictures of real people, and places them on still objects around us. That’s my favourite part of it. Last year i saw exhibition “women are heroes” in Brussels streets: http://senseslost.com/2008/06/03/jr-graffiti-art/ - faces out of another reality, placed in the city, smiling at you, knowing you have no idea what this faces ‘ve been through. And there are many stories behind.

I believe in Beauty. I believe that when colours come together, they create energy unlike any other. I believe some combinations of light, shades and reflections, can give us feeling of inner peace and happiness, a call for action or urge to sing and dance, feel the love for the whole world and every single person. In faces, in nature, in architecture, in the sky, in the plain brick wall. I believe that our eye can see more than there is. Or maybe exactly as much, while every other day we just see objects, sceneries, labels and perceptions, and we fail to see *it*. The beauty that is everywhere around us at every single moment of time.

Be yourself, whatever you think is true to be. Follow your values. Even if they dont give same back to you. Care, help, support people who might not even appreciate. Because if you stop – it’ll be against what you believe in. Because doing something only for people who will say Thank you is not even a point. Even if sometimes the world will give you nothing you expect in return. Self respect, piece with yourself in a long run is so much more important than feeling appreciated. Appreciation is totally overrated. As long as you appreciate yourself. And yeah. I dont really care if you think differently ;)

I am artfriendly

Now i discovered the word for my relationship with art:

I am artfriendly!

Artfriendly – adj/n

1) An attitude, a positive mindset towards art and artists

2) People you might have come across in a museum or in art exhibition. A circle of people with an affinity for art, for creativity, who don’t claim to be experts. Their relation to art is open, with no prejudgment. Many of them would be happy to buy an artwork, but never, or rarely, get round to it. (Does this sound like you?)

3) Places open to creativity (Maybe the place where you are at the moment?)

4) An art label promoting inspiring visual artists and spreading their work as widely as possible at a democratic price

Great project i came across. Making art accessible, contributing to positive economy and fighting climate change at the same time. Sustainable art. Inspired by urban life, the planet and the nature. Putting together passion, responsibility and entrepreneurship. I love the idea. (And its based in Brussels.)

“Art is valuable for itspoetry and for the emotional response and inspiration it stimulates.”

What the Web Will Look Like in 5 Years

An attempt to look into the future of the web by a person who knows what he are talking about: Google CEO Eric Schmidt

Full story: http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/google_web_in_five_years.php?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_term=social+media

Highlighted comments include:

  • Five years from now the internet will be dominated by Chinese-language content.
  • Today’s teenagers are the model of how the web will work in five years – they jump from app to app to app seamlessly.
  • Five years is a factor of ten in Moore’s Law, meaning that computers will be capable of far more by that time than they are today.
  • Within five years there will be broadband well above 100MB in performance – and distribution distinctions between TV, radio and the web will go away.
  • “We’re starting to make signifigant money off of Youtube”, content will move towards more video.
  • “Real time information is just as valuable as all the other information, we want it included in our search results.”
  • There are many companies beyond Twitter and Facebook doing real time.
  • “We can index real-time info now – but how do we rank it?”
  • It’s because of this fundamental shift towards user-generated information that people will listen more to other people than to traditional sources. Learning how to rank that “is the great challenge of the age.” Schmidt believes Google can solve that problem.

Strange maps

I am fascinated by maps. The always remind me of places i wanted to go. I love maps. There is so much logic in them, and yet its so easy to get lost even with the map in your hands. Reading a map and using one appeared to be a skill not everyone has. Maps are amazing.

http://strangemaps.wordpress.com/

And sometimes i look at maps as a joke. Map of the world? WHOLE world on one piece of paper? All its beauty on PAPER? All its DIVERSITY in the range of green-brown-blue colours? how pathetic to try to transmit something so beautiful, so endless, so breath-taking  in the simplified version of the birds’ view that noone except the birds is looking at anyway…

Yet while the birds didn’t tell us that the world looks different from high above, people could see it in a whole different way.  We see what we want to see.states-united

Mixing countries around, trying to divide, draw borders with a pencil, colouring them in different colours. I wish people would see the world for what it really is, and not t what they want it to be.

But for now, follow the Strange Maps link, and enjoy the different perspectives on the same squire metres.

Trust

Have you ever trusted someone?

You know.. when there’s no reason to be anyone else, but yourself. When you’re free to say exactly how you feel, exactly what you feel, share what’s on your mind, things you dont tell anyone, or things that you want to tell everyone…without being afraid of sounding stupid, childish, angry.., without being afraid to be judged, to be ignored, to be scared of, to be laughed at. Because you know the other person knows a bigger picture of who you are, and every new pretty or not -piece of you would make a picture even more complete. And you don’t want to pretend. You dont want to waste any minute faking, you just want to be yourself. As transparent as you are. Not hiding any side of you, not adjusting, not missing any piece of who you are. For me trust is not about trusting your secrets and know they’ll be safe. For me TRUST is trusting someone your true self. Without even doubting that you’ll be safe.

Have you ever trusted yourself everyone you meet? - Being yourself every single moment of your life?

There’s a long way to go. And the start is in small but very important steps. Finding that one or few people that you truly trust. See if you can do it. See how it feels. – How to find them? By opening yourself to people. By trying, trusting, and not getting disappointed if it doesnt work. Because the feeling is definitely worth it.. it kinda gives you HOPE.

“Ultimately, I’m looking for someone I can talk to about anything and everything, who I don’t have to filter myself around, someone I can cry in front of or tell my biggest fears or most embarrassing secrets, someone who I know isn’t judging me, and who, in return, will open up to me. There’s plenty that goes on in my head that I don’t share with even my closest friends; as revealing as I may be about my sex life, I’m actually fairly private about quite a bit. It’s rare to find someone I can truly let go with, but that’s what I want in the future: someone who lets me be me”

Twitter away

I have to admit twitter did face some scepticism from my side. – Another facebook. –  Facebook already has what twitter has.  - Yes and no.

Twitter still lets you share the important (or not) with the world, but twitter also lets others hear so much more. Its amazing how people use it in s many different ways. But i love how some people use it to say important things, to share the message, to make people smile, to let them think. It is more of a one-way communication, – difficult to fight, defend, argue with someone’s opinion in 160 symbols. Lets you listen better. I love how you can connect to organization, movements, famous (or simply amazing) people, and hear what they have to say. You can ignore all the junk by now following it. You have all you choose – in one web-page list. I love how i can hear it all at once. Twitter makes people brief and to the point. Share what they want to say, what’s worth sharing. This could be the reflection of the world where people speak up their minds and listen. And if this is the way we finally learn to listen in the web 2.0 world we live in, then let it be.

Listen with attention, speak with intention.
